Built PC’s
After attending a few festivals and events, the challenge arose to be apart of the Case Mod, Storage, Over Clocking Contests. Limits were set to create boundaries like, we could take 3 months conceptualizing the design and ordering parts, prepping parts but assembly was to take 3 days to full operation, troubleshooting and the last day being the contest day. The budget had no limits for parts, but was set to a specific amount for things like paint, extra hardware, liquid, 3d printing material, extra PETG tubes and it was encouraged for everyone to participate.
At times special projects came up as well for fundraising like our Gumball PC that had a fully functioning gumball reservoir and coin mechanism while being able to play PUBG. This was built for Extra-Life.org to assist in raising money for the Children’s Hospital of UC Davis, Sacramento, California.
Another side project was the Farmers Insurance PC, built for agent David Bolce of Roseville, California. To help me learn more about Networking, David let me rebuild his office’s network and as a thank you the main PC was built especially for him to show off.
Festivals, Events, Good Time’s!
Memories of our attendance and participation of events being held by bigger organizations. Most raised money for other non-profit’s like Make-A-Wish, Childrens Miracle Network, St Judes. Events that consisted of 100 – 500 person LAN Parties, Open to the public fundraisers for functions like EA’s Battlefront 2 GoodDay Sacramento morning release party. Other companies pitched in like Buffalo Wild Wings with several hundred various wings and a multitude of vouchers for free wings to hand out. These times are always awesome and you never know who you will run into. Great for networking, awesome for creating great memories!
