Utilizing Minecraft as a platform to assist in learning Front-End and Back-End technologies, while further innovating other uses and ways to benefit our community.
This page started off as the Garage LAN’s page for all information pertaining to it and a place for answering questions regularly asked. Now I’ve built it out for you, enjoy!
In the beginning TekRP started in 2013 as Trollgazer Gaming. Before Trollgazer Gaming it was myself and my 2 kids that were starting High School. In an attempt to create an environment for friends to play, socialize, experience various types of technology in a safe environment, Trollgazer Gaming was born. From a small 3 person gaming party in the kitchen, imaginations went wild and things started changing. The power grid in the house was upgraded, double insulation in the garage with its own central a/c unit installed, 20 LAN drops in the garage and 20 more in the house, we were ready to game! The fun grew and became an attraction to people from all around as word spread. Hosting podcasts, LAN Parties, live Game Servers for anyone to connect to, building custom PC’s, field trips to festivals and events, things started taking on a life of its own.
However, there needed to be a change. Trollgazer Gaming was shut down and changed to TekRP. In an attempt to make things better, we decided to head back to school. Going back to school has opened up opportunities for fun projects like taking classes for Network Administration then deciding to build a server rack as the classes go along. This has attracted a lot of attention on its own from professional people volunteering their personal time to play with the project like a hobby to influencing others to create their own “lab” for school. Nothing prepared us for what would happen when the small server rack started to become a full on data center.

“Consider God’s handiwork; who can straighten what He hath made crooked?“
Ecclesiastes 7:13 – Gattaca
On November 2, a team of gamers partnered with Black Rifle Coffee Company and
Leupold Optics for a charity Twitch livestream to raise money for the Boot
Campaign. Over the course of 10 hours playing “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare,”
the streamers raised over $72,000.
Multiple donors gave more than $1,000. The largest single donor was streamer
Randall Philippi, who gave $11,200 spread across all the different participants.
“He came in with those huge donos,” said Cuevas, impressed. “He said he doesn’t
have a big family himself, so the military is his family. He’s been watching Mat,
JT, and all these guys since Article 15 and the transition to Black Rifle. He
actually sent me pictures of his huge Black Rifle display and everything.
Awesome dude, super kind.”

Nov 2017 – Setup, administated and teardown of Fundraiser at Mango’s

Volunteered at LANFest to setup, work, teardown 100 – 500 person LAN.
Raised money for Make-A-Wish foundation.
2017 – A wall on the border of the school grounds was heavily graffitied
with profane and vulgar text. Randall Philippi selflessly had paint colormatched
and painted over the wall on his own time, so traffic going to and from
the school would not be subjected to the graphiti.
During the painting, the “artists” made an appearance and Randall invited
them to help paint in exchange to be apart of his “Gaming Garage”. The artists
agreed, enjoyed the benefits of the “Gaming Garage” and the Community
was kept cleaner while the “Gaming Garage” was open.
