Reading through the A+ Comptia assignment for this week, chapter 2, I’ve found myself playing with a lot of what was being discussed in the chapter in regards to OS’s (Operating Systems). This class has been a lot of fun for me and I’m really considering just putting all other projects on hold to dive into these classes I have this semester.
Debating on logging into my hypervisor to setup multiple OS’s to click around while reading the chapter, I found myself really only learning about the Control button on MAC and that there is a settings button in Linux. Linux I love, especially Linux Mint and while I have used Ubuntu Gnome, I’m mostly using Ubuntu Server and CentOS for a server OS. I really wish Linux would step up their game a little bit to be more competitive with Windows but after taking my Linux classes, I understand now that will never happen with Microsoft’s paid dev team. Microsoft really does sit at the top for OS’s and Windows 11 is my absolute favorite.
I believe Microsoft got better after firing Steve Balmer and migrating Windows to a Linux backbone. Terminal in Windows has been inspired by that transition, multiple desktops and snapping windows are all fantastic additions now because of the migration. Other remarkable changes have been made to push toward Windows being cloud based and getting updates from the open source community, however AI has forced some changes for that objective.
If you haven’t tried CoPilot, either update your Windows 11 and it should appear on your taskbar or head over to the Windows Store and download it for free! You won’t regret it as I have even been learning new tools and tricks from CoPilot with Windows. One more awesome addition by Microsoft to Windows!
